There are many legends about the history of the Tarot cards, and it is still unknown exactly where it came from. Some people talk about the Tarot as a heritage of Atlantis, others - that it originated from Ancient Egypt, where the priests studied the symbols and archetypes of people, which were later captured in the Holy Book. It is believed that this book contains all the wisdom of the Universe and its 78 pages later became 78 cards.
The earliest Tarot deck that has come down to us was created in the middle Ages. Some used it for card games, others for divination and spiritual development. In those days, fortune tellers were burned at the stake, but the most talented were kept at court as personal consultants to the highest nobility.

From those times until now, Tarot has been associated with fortune-telling, but this is the most superficial level of Tarot perception. In fact, it is a system that contains knowledge about the world, people, and events, so now Tarot is used for a wider range of tasks.
Tarot cards also help you analyze the situation, search for and find solutions, and make important choices. Tarot is a tool that gives very accurate answers to exciting questions, tips, and recommendations in various aspects of a person's life. Tarot helps you turn the situation to your advantage and avoid making big mistakes.
Tarot is still shrouded in a halo of mysticism. Many people imagine Tarot readers as fortune-tellers with a magic ball and gold rings. In reality, this is just a stereotype. Back in the 20th century, the psychiatrist and founder of the analytical direction of psychology, Carl Gustav Jung, presented a theory with which one can approach a rational explanation of the "magic" of the Tarot.
К. Jung described the structure of the individual and named the collective unconscious as one of the layers. It contains the thoughts and feelings of every person: living now and ever-existing; as well as all the events that have occurred and probabilistic events. In other words, we are all connected by a common field that has no time boundaries. The Tarot reader is connected to this field during the sessions.
Tarot is a mirror of our subconscious mind. The subconscious mind communicates in the language of metaphors. The cards are only a tool, and the tarot reader and his spreads are the guides. Thus, the Tarot is not a gift. We will leave the fortune-tellers in the seventh generation for the Battle of extrasensory, this is just a beautiful story. Every intellectually developed person can learn this system if they wish.
By the way, Tarot is sometimes used in psychology to analyze situations and conditions of clients, and not for predictions. The subconscious mind still shows the necessary cards. Hence a new direction appeared - metaphorical associative cards, which work on a similar principle, but supposedly have nothing to do with Tarot. In fact, this is the same principle. With a strong desire, you can predict on metaphorical associative cards, and on any other – even on playing cards.
How Tarot cards work:
- At the stage of training, the tarot reader builds an associative row for each card, studies the layouts and meanings of card combinations in each of them;
- Further, connects to the collective unconscious and tunes in to the querent and his request;
- Thanks to this setting, exactly those cards fall out that reflects the situation of a particular person;
- Further, the tarot reader is responsible for correctly interpreting the alignment. The more experience a tarot reader has, the better they are able to enter the stream, and the more accurate and detailed answers they will give.
Sometimes people ask global questions about their fate. This is intriguing and at the same time frightening: what if you are not destined to get what you want? Unfortunately, there is no such thing as fate in the conventional sense. There are very few event points that cannot be changed in any way. The future is multi-variable, so another important principle of the Tarot is to predict within a year. The longer the prediction time period, the more General the forecast is. Therefore, everything is in our hands, and in my work, I always recommend avoiding questions in the spirit of "how many children will I have?" and focus on the most relevant topics, change your "here and now" because it lays the foundation for the future!

Also, when referring to the Tarot, keep in mind – the cards answer very accurately. Thanks to this, an experienced tarot reader can read the layout and describe the situation in great detail. In this regard, the Tarot wins over the same popular direction – astrology. But there is a downside: to get a clear answer, you need to be able to formulate the same clear questions. Tarot cards like specifics. This means that they will not just answer the question "what is my purpose?", but if you have options for what to do in life – you can use the cards to view each of them, and based on the answers, choose the most appropriate one. Or use cards to create a psychological portrait, based on which a person can choose a suitable field of activity.
A Tarot session is about getting information from the General field, the collective unconscious. Tarot opens up huge opportunities for self-knowledge and making important decisions. However, this system has nothing to do with magic, since it does not affect reality.
